WebDisk CVR
Keep surveillance recordings in a second location. Browse a timeline, download files and share selected footage. Bring recordings from UniFi Protect and Tiandy into an archive matched to your recorder model and recording format.
An off-site copy, an accessible archive
A stolen recorder, a failed disk or damage to the building can cut off access to local recordings. WebDisk CVR organizes footage stored outside the premises and helps you find the section you need.
Recordings live in storage on your WebDisk Files account. CVR provides the index and archive tools; storage capacity is a separate service. The footage copied depends on the source and connection method.
Prepare your recording archive
Check the recording source
Tell us the model, firmware, file format and whether the installation provides event clips or continuous recordings.
Choose your storage
Select WebDisk Files storage and size it for your camera count, image quality and recording volume.
Browse the footage
Once the source is connected and files are indexed, find recordings by time, download them or share selected material.
Tools for working with recordings
Recording timeline
The recording index helps you find the right day and time without downloading the entire archive.
Preview supported MP4 files
Play MP4 with H.264 in your browser. HEVC support depends on the browser and device.
Original files
Download footage in the format produced by the source. Raw and proprietary formats may need a separate player.
Share selected footage
Share a clip or prepare a recording bundle and send the recipient a link.
Storage usage control
CVR monitors storage usage. Retention can remove the oldest recordings to leave room for incoming footage.
Storage on your account
Access recordings through WebDisk Files as well. Keep the original files and use them outside the CVR panel.
UniFi Protect and Tiandy
Archive recordings from UniFi Protect and Tiandy in WebDisk CVR. We match the connection to the recorder model, firmware and recording format.
Connect UniFi Protect through a WireGuard tunnel. You can also use NAS recordings replicated to S3 in WebDisk Files.
Have another recorder? We help check the model, format and available stream. Compatibility with devices using SFTP, FTPS or FTP and the scope of archiving are assessed individually.
Capacity and archive duration
Size WebDisk Files capacity for your camera count, image quality and recording volume. CVR and storage are billed separately, so you can match capacity to your needs.
CVR monitors usage and uses retention to make room for incoming recordings. Archive duration depends on recording volume, capacity and storage settings.
Find, view and share the right footage
Find an event on the timeline, preview a supported MP4 and share the relevant footage. You can also prepare a recording bundle for the recipient.
Download original files from the archive. Raw .h264/.h265 and formats such as .dav use a suitable player; MP4 preview depends on the codec and browser.

Will the archive include continuous recordings?
Available footage depends on the source and may be event clips or continuous recordings. When choosing a connection, we check the footage and stream available for your installation.
Do I need WebDisk Files?
Yes. Recordings are stored in storage on your WebDisk Files account. The CVR subscription and storage capacity are separate services.
